Hagerty Auctions Saved Searches
Specific targeting and getting better bidders
Car buyers are often looking for a specific vehicle, and auction inventory will not always match what a user is looking for. There needed to be a way to notify users when vehicles of interest were listed by implementing a save search feature. By notifying a person that a car they want is for sale, they are more likely to return, engage, and ultimately purchase on the platform.
Save via search inquiry
When a user keys in a query in the search bar or engages filters, a “Save search & get alerts” button surfaces on the page where they can instantly subscribe to notifications for that search.
Save via sold listings
Many users land on sold listings via organic search and this was an additional entry point to save searches for similar vehicles via an alert banner populated at the top of the page.
Search matches emailed daily
Users get daily emails of saved search match results to ensure they don’t miss a vehicle they’re interested in. This allows us to be ready at the relevant time for a user when we have what they want in stock, increasing their likelihood of browsing, engaging, and buying.
High engagement results
Within 6 months of launching the save search feature, it garnered high engagement. This particular feature continues to help boost our return visitors and is working to generate more engagement to the site over time, which will ultimately affect sell-through rates positively.
